Introduction to Reliability Prediction & Allocation

This class session will instruct students in preparing R&M predictions, and will provide an understanding of how to use predictions in a value-added manner. The session will focus primarily on performing predictions that assume constant failure rates and series systems, and will also introduce the concept of hazard analysis using non-constant failure distributions. Class exercises will give the students hands-on experience in preparing, interpreting and using reliability, maintainability and availability predictions.


Several basic allocation techniques will be introduced, along with the implications of constant and non-constant failure rate cases.
