Reliability PredictionQuickly Estimate Product ReliabilityEvaluating product reliability normally begins with estimating mean time between failures (MTBF) or probability of success. Relex' friendly and flexible Reliability Prediction Engine makes reliability prediction both fast and easy. Not only can you easily create predictions, but you can just as easily create reports that identify the primary expected drivers of unreliability in any design, giving you a powerful and easy to use prevention tool!
With the Relex menu interface, you simply create a hierarchical representation of your system and its components or assemblies, and let Relex do the calculation work! Relex guides you easily through the entry of all data by prompting for the necessary parameters, providing a list of choices when available, and validating all entries. If the information is not readily available, you may simply leave it blank. Relex will default the applicable parameters to user-definable default values. As an added feature, Relex will even create libraries of your parts. The next time you enter your part number, Relex will automatically enter all the part data for you!
Once the part data has been entered, perform a calculation by simply pressing the Calculate button. Relex performs calculations accurately and quickly at 25-100 parts per second, or faster, depending on your computer.
Pick Your Prediction Sources & MethodsThe Relex reliability prediction tool enables you to quickly estimate the reliability of your product based on any number of different sources and techniques. These can include your own reliability data, all of the most popular empirical reliability prediction models, so-called "generic" or "catalog" failure rates, or any combination thereof. Relex supports all of the most widely used reliability prediction models, including the NSWC-98 “Handbook of Reliability Prediction Procedures for Mechanical Equipment” which contains reliability models for devices such as seals, springs, solenoids, bearings, gears, splines, valves, actuators, pumps, brakes, clutches, and more. Import a Bill-of-MaterialRelex includes an extremely easy to use import wizard that enables you to import a bill of material (and other data) into Relex. The import wizard supports a dozen different file formats. You can import project data, FMEA data, parts library data and many others! Powerful, User-Definable LibrariesIf you are using your own (or your customer's or supplier's) reliability data, it can be stored in user-definable libraries! By simply importing a bill of material or list of assemblies (in any of over a dozen different file formats), Relex will automatically retrieve the parts data from its own libraries, your custom libraries, or both!
If you are using one of the many empirical reliability models, you can store the part characteristics required by the model in the libraries!
Even if you don't import a bill of material file, the part libraries are extremely useful. Simply enter a part number in the Relex analysis project, and Relex automatically searches all libraries for full or even partial matches! You can even browse the part libraries from within your project file.
You can even create or update the libraries from your project file so that new parts (and their characteristics) used in the project file are available to future new analysis projects!
Relex also includes built-in libraries of over 50,000 electronic parts, including all of their rated characteristics. You can even create a correlation file between your part numbers and the manufacturer's part numbers contained in the Relex libraries! Easily Reuse or Combine Past Predictions or Sections of PredictionsWith Relex' intuitive "system tree" interface, you can easily reuse and combine predictions of your standard designs, or even subsections of past projects. Simply open the existing prediction project and your new one simultaneously, and then "drag and drop" the appropriate subassembly from the old system tree to the appropriate place in the new system tree. The entire prediction section is then copied into your new project!
If you're also using the FMEA or Maintainability Prediction modules, that data is also copied into the new project!
It's just as easy as moving files between directories in Windows Explorer! Full-Featured Custom ReportingRelex' reporting utility does not lock you in to a fixed set of reports & formats. It includes a full-featured report definition utility that allows you to define what your reports include and look like. You have full control over everything in the report: data fields to include, sort/select criteria, report layout, headers, footers, etc. You can even include graphics images (like your company's logo) in them!
Of course Relex ships with dozens of standard reports included, which you can tailor to suit your needs.
