Design Failure Modes & Effects Analysis For Machinery

This course provides attendees with the basic knowledge required to effectively apply failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to the unique challenges of automated machinery design.  Attendees will gain an understanding of the role of FMEA in improving product design and the critical importance of using cross-functional teams to contribute to new designs through the FMEA process.  The class provides students with step-by-step instruction in the preparation of each element of the FMEA analysis, with particular emphasis on how to extract maximum value from the analysis at each stage of design by properly analyzing and reacting to its findings.
