Design Failure Modes & Effects Analysis

This course provides attendees with the basic knowledge to perform a failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) of a component, assembly or system.  Attendees will gain an understanding of how to begin an FMEA at the concept stage of the design, using a functional, top-down approach, and how to use this early analysis to guide a more detailed bottom up, hardware analysis approach during the design stage.  Particular emphasis will be placed on how to extract maximum value from the analysis at each stage of design by properly analyzing and reacting to its findings.
